The idiot that wrote the bad review is a jackass. I lived in the area for many years and used to go to Famous Sams. It was depressing and boring but had the neighborhood sports bar feeling. The kareoke was the worst I've ever been to. I would drive miles away to go kareoke, places like Cook & Jacks, The Vine, even all the way up Shea. The Max is now revived to what a sports bar should be. They replaced all the TV's with new 72" HD, free poker, new menu, drink specials, lunch specials, UFC and boxing fights, ping pong, new staff, extensive interior design, etc. There is just too much to list see for yourself. Lets talk about the food. Much much better than greasy Famous Sams fried food. To top it off, the idiot that wrote the review says it's dirty, BULL. The owner walked me in the kitchen several times to show me how they prep food. Coming from the restaurant background myself I know what clean is. I have been to hundreds of bars in the Maricopa county, and The Max is on my top 3. I have moved up north and still drive 40mins 3 times a week to Max. Don't judge a place by a jackass's negative review because they removed the depressing karoeke crew. He is probably the karoeke host cuz his name is SalsaKing. I would recommend anyone to judge for yourself, you will enjoy a lively, friendly experience and enjoy what a sports bar should be. There are other reviews written on other sites, all positive. Sorry for the lengthy review, just despise liars. See for yourself, then judge.

MAX Sports Grille used to be "Famous Sam's. During that period, it was a very comfortable and friendly Sports Bar. From the time it was sold, the new owners have tried to make it an "Up scale Sports Grille. They have failed!! The food is HORRIBLE, overall, it is one of the dirtiest venues, VERY UNFRIENDLY and BORING!! They used to have the best Karaoke in the valley. They got rid of that and now it's no more than another
'run of the mill" WATERING HOLE!! None of my friends, or myself will ever enter that place again!!
