Schmitt Jewelers and ON Media have partnered to create Golden Encore, a one-of-kind program that benefits the two renowned arts companies. The program focuses on encouraging the public to support the arts groups, which collectively have been serving the Valley for more than 60 years, through donations of unused gold and platinum jewelry including unpaired earrings, broken chains, dental gold, old jewelry mounts or other gold pieces. The unused or unwanted gold pieces can be brought to Schmitt Jewelers, which, will assess and weigh the metals then give 100% of the gold’s value to the two arts groups. No check writing or cash is required.
“Everyone who donates their old gold and platinum metals to Golden Encore will receive a letter that may be used for tax purposes this year,” says Mac Perlich, ON Media‘s marketing and community relations director. “This innovative program not only helps our important arts and culture groups, but gives people a way to recycle their precious metals in a ‘green’ fashion.”
The program kicks off on October 5 and runs through November 25, 2009.
