by Bernardo Solano World Premiere Actors Theatre has commissioned this new play by celebrated playwright Bernardo Solano. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Mr. Solano is a recipient of the NEA/TCG Theatre Residency Program for Playwrights, Fulbright and McKnight Fellowships, NEA and Rockefeller grants, as well as an AT&T OnStage and two Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest grants. Mr. Solano is an associate artist of Cornerstone Theater and is on the faculty at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. It's a romance. It's boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl again. And they live...ever after. Frank Lopez is a student at ASU studying business. His father's side of family has been in the US for many generations - his mother (who died of cancer several years ago), not so long. Dad is a staunch Republican and a very successful businessman. Frank tries to downplay his wealth. Elizabeth Trumbel is also an ASU student, majoring in art. Her mom is Jewish and a social worker. Her Anglo father of Irish-Italian stock died when Liz was 6. Liz was raised with a great deal of liberal consciousness. She is quite romantic when it comes to minorities but in reality she hasn't known many. She's quite enamored of Spanish and believes anyone who speaks Spanish speaks from the depths of their soul.
